We value what nature produces

FROM THE VINE CULTIVATED WITH PASSION, WE COLLECT FINE GRAPES FOR GENUINE AND SPECIAL WINES.

Since the foundation of the Crocco Winery, we’ve had a mission: to create excellent, unique wines which could hold the most precious secrets of our ancestors.
It took four generations to create our winery in Montalbano Jonico.
My grandfather Angelo, together with his grandfather, made wine for his own use, but always with passion and expertise. Every year was a race to improve the quality, to free all the notes and scents which our beloved Earth could give.

Even today we’re committed to improving small details of our production processes, and we aim to process even more delicious wines.
From healthy soils of the region of Basilicata Jonica, with winemaking work of centuries-old tradition, Crocco wine specialities are born.
We’re sure that our dedication and love for this work will make the difference, right from the first taste.

The unique territory of our wines

The position at 300 metres above sea level, the clay soils and the Tramontana...
Montalbano Jonico is part of the Ravines Reserve, near the Ionian coast, with an ideal climate for vineyards.

The Cellar

Our wines offer excellent organoleptic qualities, thanks to several factors.

The hills on the sea create a good temperature range between day and night, with very positive effects for the good performance of the vegetative cycle of the vines.
They create wines withbalanced acidity, fresh notes and lively aromas.

The balanced altitude offers an ideal ripening of the grapes, and the area ventilated by the Tramontana ensures that there’s no moisture: it creates an unfavourable environment for pathogens (downy mildew).
The clay soil is one of the most suitable for the cultivation of black berry grapes, with very intense pigmentations, complex olfactory sensations, high alcohol content, softness and longevity
. All this allows the Crocco Winery, to use more traditional production, helped by the unique and particular aspects of our region.

Craft products, genuine and fine wines, great for the niche of gourmets and pleasing to connoisseurs.

OUR WINES

We take care of the cultivation of the vineyards and the selection of the grapes with constant commitment, every day.
We aim for quality in respect of the wine tradition, but with a watchful eye on the innovations of modern technology in winemaking.

As a result, Crocco wineries produce about 100,000 bottles a year, including red wines (Merlot, Sangiovese, Primitivo, Aglianico) and white wines (Greco, Chardonnay).
